Hi, my name is Chris Conquer.

This page is to tell you what's going on in the aerial industry. But do you care? Probably not. However it is important for you to understand a little about what's going on. For instance, when the analoug signal departs for ever from the TV airways, do you cry? jump for joy, or say, what's happened to my TV? It's gone all fuzzy.

You may ask, "why do I need an aerial? I can pick up my TV on the computer, have cable sitting outside, waiting. Or maybe pick up a signal from one of those far away things in space.
The answer is plain and simple, you don't need an aerial for your TV.
The only problem is in the long run an aerial is the most reliable way of picking up a TV signal, not to mention the most security secure.
An aerial gives you a signal that has traffic going one, to you. There is no feedback, back to headquarters, no information gathering by channel watched by you.
When I talk about feedback, I mean a cable going back to the provider. This cable usually consist of a phone line.
Of course one the other methods, satellite, doesn't need feedback either to pick-up the signal, but some companies, Sky for example, request that the feedback is connected to improve their service. ( if you have forgotten what the feedback is, it's the thin white cable that a Sky engineer has carefully thrown through the window, over the chairs in the hallway, around the door frame and guided under the hinges of the door, before making it's final journey under the carpet to the Sky decoder box.)
